A successful Blood Sugar Determination Camp and Diabetic Awareness Class was held on Sunday, 16th November, at the Kesari Vayanasala (Library) in Pooyappilly. The event, aimed at raising awareness about diabetes and providing free health screenings, was organized under the leadership of the H for H Pooyappilly Unit.
The camp, which began at 7:00 AM and ran until 10:00 AM, was inaugurated by Dr. Manu P. Vishwam, a well-known medical professional in the region. Dr. Vishwam led the sugar determination screenings, offering attendees valuable insights into managing and preventing diabetes.
In addition to the screenings, the camp featured an informative awareness session on diabetes. Dr. Jayan delivered an engaging talk, highlighting the risks, preventive measures, and lifestyle changes that can help manage the condition.
The event also included speeches from several distinguished individuals. Shri Joseph Padayatti, Shri Silas (Convenor of the Leadership Committee), P.D. Murukeshan, V.G. Babu, Smt. Mini Rajesh, and Anil Kumar shared their thoughts on the importance of health awareness and community involvement in combating lifestyle diseases like diabetes.
The camp was a joint effort of H for H Pooyappilly Unit and Kesari Vayanasala. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to educate and empower the local community to take control of their health.
Participants expressed their gratitude for the initiative, noting the importance of regular health check-ups and being educated about chronic conditions like diabetes. The event concluded with many attendees committing to better health practices and regular screenings to stay on top of their well-being.
